this friday (2/6) you will find us with a glass of sangria in our hands at the new opening party of Fuego 718. formerly known as “Love Shine 718″, this excellent store has now re-emerged into our midsts with a new name and as i hear amazing brand new collections of handmade goods and folk art from mexico and central america. this is one of the best stores on the block (249 grand street, take el tren to bedford or lorimer and hoof it a few blocks) and definitely one of my favorite in all of the land. if you haven’t stopped by this location yet and meet alex the amiable owner and shopkeep, you owe to yourself to take a stroll and friday night just might be the perfect time. hasta manana.

So fellow Mta’ers, when you’re not busy dialing 311 to report terrorists you should really see what Spain is up to. Since my Spanish is limited I had mi amigo translate this beautifully futuristic spot from Madrid’s metro which puts the MTA’s graphic design department to shame. Apparently the ad suggests that the people of Spain deserve the finest metro in the world. Well! they obviously haven’t had the pleasure of the G train. Viva El Metro!- whose slogan “vuela” takes a slightly different view than our humble underground, “slower than crawling on your hands and knees through broken glass”.

we have a guest artist taking on the latest resolver today, fleury from fleuryrose.com
it’s an email submitted resolution of which we’ve been getting a few.

it reads as follows: “I have a rabid obsession with my toys, i love my toys more than
I do any real people that i come in contact with. This year I resolve to go out and
make relations with real people rather than having relations with my toys… eventhough
it will be hard.”

introducing our first new product of the new year. the handmade DS game organizer. made with felt swatches, and
a whole lotta love, yes that kind of love. perfect for keeping those tiny little game carts safe from the couch cushions,
the vacuum cleaner, the dog, the john, etc…

comes in three flavors, mario, tetris and pac-man, and if you really really want a specific game detailed on the cover,
well, we’re listening. however, the REAL story starts when you decide which game should match up with which felt
swatch, that’s the true personality test.

they are basically custom made for each order, 60 bucks, on the store page. i’ve lost two game carts
already somewhere in my relatively small apartment, (that’s 60 bucks right there!!) so this thing pays
for itself if used properly!!

gak! sooooo it seems that there is a large deposit of oil located under the fertile soil of greenpoint
and it’s slowly but surely bubbling ever closer to the surface. our friendsand relations who ride the
G train might have a gusher on their hands before long.but even old daniel plainview might be hard
pressed to lust after this deposit of oil, spilled and quietly forgotten, mixed with gasoline, solvents,
solid and chemical wastes, and a cocktail of other appetizing composites. i guess that explains a few
mysteries about the size of the rats at the nassau ave station. even so, mr. michael frame, a current
resident of bushwick is quoted of saying, ”i gotta say, as bad as that sounds,as soon as it drives the
rent down, I’m movin’ to Greenpoint! Fuck lack of subwayaccess, that is gonna be one cheap area,
woo hoo!”

you can find out all of the horrifying details here if you dare

the resolver flyer has found it’s way around town it seems and has ended up on
thebeersforbarcelonablog, on which a scholarly gentleman keeps an online collection
of flyers around NYC and comments on their affect on the surrounding culture and
environs and vice-versa.

and WOW, he also has a copy of our very earliest flyer from years ago on his site also,
and made the connection between the two despite the vague inscription on this early flyer.

here is the link for the site, it’s currently showcase a small flyer/sticker campaign blasting
developers in bedford. talk on daddy, talk on. beersforbarcelona.blogspot.com
